McLane Intelligent Solutions – Strategic Leadership

McLane Intelligent Solutions (www.mclaneintel.com) was experiencing a slowdown in growth and profitability, yet maintained a loyal customer base and a skilled engineering team.  In need of new leadership, and following the strong recommendation of a leading industry advisor, McLane engaged R. Gaines Baty Associates (RGBA) to conduct an executive search.

Collaborating with McLane Group partner Drayton McLane, Jr., RGBA identified and recruited a President/CEO, Jay Battershell, in late 2015, and a supporting VP of Operations, Juan Salazar, in 2017. Each brought extensive experience and expertise to his respective role. Battershell had leveraged his managed services and consulting skills at Accenture, Uniden, LSG SkyChefs, and Clearview Technologies; while Salazar hailed from CalTech and mindSHIFT, where he developed and led with strong metrics, quality service processes, and scalable workflows.

The organization stabilized in 2016. Since then, revenues have doubled and market value continues to grow exponentially.  “We’ve grown profitability by creating key metrics and managing results, with great customer engagement and satisfaction as the goals,” added Juan Salazar.

In early 2020, McLane acquired Cloud integration company, Cettiworks, to dramatically enhance service capabilities.  Today, through its “Constant Care” IT Managed Services and expanded hybrid Cloud services, McLane IS now serves clients across North America, Asia and Europe, in a broad range of industries including Financial Services, Manufacturing/Distribution, Professional Services, and Government. McLane plans to continue delivering great customer service and new solutions/services that help small and mid-market clients to grow and succeed.
